Another Great Entry

The entries are starting to trickle in and we've had some great techniques and ideas. We are so impressed by all the creativity out there! We hope you all enter as it is so much fun for all of us to see what you are all doing with your paper crafting and scrapbooking!

Here is another amazing entry by Nicole Patterson! Notice the handmade beads on the white card on the right! What an awesome idea!

Stay warm and keep posted for more entries!

Contest Entries

I love contests and it's so exciting when entries start coming in! With only three entires so far I am so amazed at the great talent. Our first entry is from Angie Pitrie, she created an adorable mini tin album and a oh so cool coffee cup album. Both are done in Christmas papers which make it the perfect little gift.

Our second entry is from Sue Jaques. Sue did an amazing job and cross-stitched tags on each of her four card designs. As a former cross-stitcher I know how much work goes into even just a little project like this. Great job Sue!

Our third entry is from Miranda Wensel who entered four amazing cards, but what really caught my eye was her original design of these unique closet dividers for baby clothes. Each tag has the month range for a child from new born to 24 moths. Very cool idea and great gift for a new mom.

So far the entries have been amazing! Can't wait to see what else comes in!

Join us tomorrow night from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. for demo night! Roxanne will be demoing the amazing Martha Stewart score board. This is the best product I have bought in ages. We're Having a Contest

It's been far too long since our last contest and we thought it might be fun to incorporate cards and altered items instead of just layouts. So lets see what you've got, have fun and start creating!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I've been so negligent getting this month's layouts posted, and I apologize! So just in time for Valentine's Day here are all our February layouts. They are also on our website under each individual designer's name. There are a couple that were late (won't mention names) and I will have theirs up this week! This had to have been one of the prettiest kits we have had in ages and we all thoroughly enjoyed creating with it! So enjoy everyone and have a wonderful and happy valentine's day tomorrow!

Well, she did it again!

That Martha Stewart and her punches! I'm hooked, as well as the other Urban staff, on her "Border" and "Around the Page" punches. Now she has come up with "All Over the Page" punches which are fantastic! These punches come in two pieces, the base which goes under your paper, and the top piece. Just match up the notched edge, the magnets snap together and push down to punch. This punch allows you to punch anywhere on your page! You can also use the negative space to create windows in your pages or cards.

There are ten different designs for these new punches. It was hard to choose which one I wanted, but I chose the butterfly punch and used it on this layout.

I just adhered patterned paper under the negative spaces and used the punched out butterflies in different areas. The background paper is from Pink Paislee, their Anthology line, which I inked and misted. The patterned paper is from Glitz (Love Nest), the "beautiful" sticker is from KI Memories (it was black but I cover it with Sequin Stickles) and the heart journaling spot was from Girl's Paperie.
Now I just have to decide which one will be my next purchase!
Thanks for visiting our blog and have a great weekend!

What's on your wish list?

It's that time of year again when all the scrapbook companies show their latest and greatest at C.H.A. (Craft and Hobby Association) trade show in L.A. Pat and Lori are there right now, ordering for the store! I've had the privilege of going a few times and while it is fun and exciting to see all the new product and displays; it is extremely busy and tiring! Rule #1, wear comfortable shoes! I'm sure some of you have been checking out new releases on your computer and have chosen a few favorites. I know I have and that list just gets longer and longer. One of the places I have been going on is, Scrapbook Update, so you might want to check that site out. What would you like to see Urban Scrapbook bring in? Let us know in the comment section!

Also, the February monthly challenge kits are now on sale. This month is all about glitter and the design team have come up with some fabulous layouts. Directions and a photo of Roxanne's gorgeous layout was chosen for the kit, so make sure you make a trip to the store to check that out. The layout photos will be posted on our website by the weekend!

It's just two weeks until Valentine's Day, so time to get started on those projects! We have a great assortment of papers and embellishments here at the store, and a few projects on display for inspiration.

Have a great day!
Jan
