MOUSE TRAP MESSAGE BOARDS

Good morning everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It looks like its going to be a great week heading into National Scrapbook Day on Saturday! I am a huge fan of Shelly Hickox, who is also one of the designers along with our very own Jan for the Sizzix design team! She is so creative and comes up with the coolest ideas. So you can imagine what I thought when I found these little message boards made from old mouse traps!
I can definitely see a row of these mounted on a notice board or you could add magnets for your refrigerator! The ideas are endless! Have a great day everyone! The Urban Scrapbook

Good morning everyone! Well as I said earlier this week it looks like its going to be a weekend to scrapbook and if you haven't dropped by the store you will be excited to see all the new product that has been arriving! So Lynn did another layout for us this week using the new Websters Pages and she is now hooked on these pre-cut flower books by Fabscraps!

FUREVER FAMILY

Good morning everyone! Hope you have lots of scrapbooking planned over the next few days because it looks like we're in for some rain! One of Studio Calico's newest lines "Classic Calico 2" has been a big favorite with its class patterns and monocromatic colors and Lynn used it to feature her newest family photo along with her two newest furry family members! She also featured the new Prima charms which are the perfect embellishment to capture the theme of her layout!
Love what you've done Lynn! Have a great day everyone. The Urban Scrapbook

WHAT'S UP?

Good morning everyone! Have you check out BasicGrey's newest line "Whats Up". Well if you haven't you should, it is fabulous and one of our favorites from their CHA release this year. I was first drawn to one of their other lines but when this came in last week I immediately starting pulling papers and their embellishments are adorable! Here is a layout designed by Pat using the new "Whats Up" along with a few other embellishments like one of her favorite staple items "Maya Road Kraft Envelopes", the new 7Gypsies wooden rulers, and her favorite EK Success border punch.

Magic with Websters

Good morning everyone! Last week we received our CHA order from Websters Pages and like previous releases it is absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite lines at the show was "In Love". Not only is it a beautiful wedding line its a fairytale all in itself that could feature the most beautiful princess! Anyhow, while doing some blog surfing on some of my favorite sites I came across the most beautiful post by Nic Howard. She has used the new "In Love" line to create this beautiful layout of some very cute friends!

TAKING YOUR DIES TO A NEW LEVEL

Good morning everyone!

If you have ever used a Spellbinder, Cheery Lynn or Memory Box wafer thin die then you might want to check out this great technique by "Flourishes". Taking your dies to the next level and giving your tools just one more level of technique is always a great thing. I know many times I look at a tool for a single purpose but when you start thinking of ways to get the most out of your dies you come up with something like this!

SOMETHING SO SIMPLE

Good morning everyone!

When I came across this technique I thought how could something so simple be such a great idea! I love it when you can find another great use for a tool or in this case a punch. Larisa from The Greeting Farm shows how to create the perfect banner using a square punch.

Have a great day everyone! I believe more great new product arrived yesterday!

CREATING A GREAT GUY CARD

Good morning everyone!

If you're like me I struggle when asked to make a guy card. Why? I am not quite sure. I know one of the reasons is embellishments. Its tough finding embellishments that aren't going to look too feminine and ribbon and flowers are a favorite! Scouring the store I have found a number of items that have worked including some of the new Tim Holtz embellishments, the new Heidi Swapp stars work great, we also just received some awesome Maya Road wood pieces and some great burlap ribbon (that's got enough of a masculine edge to work).

So on my search this morning I came across a great guy card by Audrey Pettit. And the thing that i love about this card is you could probably use any paper line to create a similar look. However the new Echo Park "Note to Self" or "This & That" lines seem to come to mind with great neutral colors.

FLOWER TECHNIQUE

Good morning everyone!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Here is a new flower technique by "For Scrapping Out Loud" which I think is really cool! I like the fact that you can take an ordinary diecut or punched flower and within minutes turn it into something quite unique!

THESE ARE AMAZING!

Good morning everyone!

Well a rainy weekend = scrapbooking and here is another amazing project by Saimba. These little gems are a work of art! I think this is a project that I might try using very old family photos and give it a very vintage feel. Anyhow, if you check out her blog she has numerous designs and variations, definitely inspirational!

I also love the way she used the Grahpic45 card paper. Such a great idea!

Have a great day everyone! Stay dry.

SHE'S DONE IT AGAIN!

Good morning everyone!

Our very own Jan has been asked to be a part of the new Sizzix Design Team along with 13 others and headed up by Tammy Tuttorow! And its no surprise as she is so talented and creative. As a part of the Sizzix design team she will be featuring a project each month using the Sizzix dies which I am sure is not a hard task for Jan. Here is a sneak of her first entry that can be found with instructions on the Sizzix blog.

FUN FLOWER CARD

Good morning everyone!

Here is a fun flower card by Roree Rumph for October Afternoon. Using her cricut machine to create multiple flower sizes (a Slice, Silhouette or nesting Spellbinder would work the same) she has layered her flowers to create this adorable card.

HAPPY EASTER MONDAY!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a wonderful long weekend. The sun is shining and it wont be long before the flower poke up and we are blessed with a little color! In the meantime I found this great tutorial on making Pom Pom flowers. We have had so many people comment on the decorations in the store I searched for some great ideas on how to make your own.

So if you check out "Snowy Bliss" there are some great ideas using tissue paper, newspaper and coffee filters to create a cheerful and happy decor, perfect for parties, celebrations and so much more!

A BROWN PAPER BAG LIKE NO OTHER

Good morning everyone! One of my favorite blogs that I visit on a regular basis is Annes Paper Fun which is where if found this beautifully decorated brown paper bag! Using a couple of the Cheery Lynn dies along with some flower embellishments she has created a simple yet so pretty way to offer a gift or perhaps a great way to give an Easter treat!

A CUTE CARD

Good morning everyone!

If you haven't had a chance to check out the new Dear Lizzy line "Neapolitan" you are going to love it. The colors are pretty and soft just like cotton candy. One of my favorite pattern papers is this adorable jar paper.

So in an effort to create something cute, I came up with this!

I used 3D foam pop dots to give the jars dimension and added some twine around the lids to give a more real effect.

Hope you enjoy and have a great day everyone!

EASTER CREATIONS!

Good morning everyone!

Well with only a few days until Easter weekend its time to get a couple of easter cards or small treats done. Here are two great ideas to help get you motivated. The first is a great treat for young or old and could be done with a number of different tools including punches, dies or your favorite cutting system. Designed by Sarah Wills, these adorable butterflies are the perfect treat and if you wanted to take it one step further add a wire to back and create your own butterfly bouquet! I think I'm going to try a few of these using my Cheery Lynn butterfly dies!

Our second creation is a much different and elegant card designed by Heartfelt Creations. And I think using similar punches or dies would be easy to create such a beautiful Easter card!

APRIL PAGE KIT

Good morning everyone. Happy April! I guess mother nature played a good April Fools joke on all of us yesterday! Well hopefully today we will be back to clear skies and sunshine!

Our monthly challenge is getting trickier each month as the number of pictures multiply by one! This month we had to scrap four pictures and our sketch using the new Bo Bunny Weekend Market. I love this line.

Hope you enjoy and have a great day.
